Muay Thai or literally Thai boxing is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs" as it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins. What Are Khan Levels in Muay Thai?
Muay Thai students must complete nine (9) levels of training, known as Khans, which represent stages of development in technique, fitness, discipline, and knowledge of Muay Thai traditions.
After successfully completing each level, students are awarded an official certificate and diploma from the World Muay Boran Federation (WMBF) in Thailand, the international body that preserves and promotes the art of Muay Thai and Muay Boran worldwide.
Each Khan level is colour-coded, represented by a distinct border colour around its icon, making it easy to identify progress. This structured grading system motivates students to train consistently, set clear goals, and work towards becoming future champions.
