Khan Exams Twice Per Year at Lumpinee Gym Limassol
At Lumpinee Gym Limassol, the Khan Exams are an important milestone in the journey of every Muay Thai Boran student. The exams are officially carried out twice per year, giving practitioners the opportunity to test their skills, knowledge, and dedication under the Kru Muaythai Association grading system.
The Khan (ขั้น) grading system consists of 19 levels, starting from beginner to advanced, and eventually progressing to instructor and master ranks. Instead of colored belts like in other martial arts, Muay Thai Boran uses the Mongkol (head ring) and Prajets (arm bands) to represent each Khan level.
By training towards their next Khan, students remain motivated and focused, aiming for continuous improvement in technique, discipline, and respect for the traditions of Muay Thai Boran.
The Khan Exams at Lumpinee Gym are recognized by the World Muay Boran Federation (WMBF) in Thailand, ensuring that every diploma awarded is internationally respected.
Whether you are a beginner starting your Muay Thai Boran journey or an advanced student aiming for higher Khan levels, Lumpinee Gym Limassol provides the right training and guidance to help you succeed.
Muay Thai Boran Grading System
The Khan (ขั้น) grading system in Muay Thai Boran is a structured way to measure the knowledge, skills, and progress of students. Similar to other martial arts grading systems, the Khan levels provide clear goals for practitioners to aim for during their training journey.
The system consists of 19 Khan grades (levels):
-
Khans 1–4: Novice or beginner levels
-
Khans 5–7: Intermediate ranks
-
Khans 8–10: Advanced student levels
-
Higher Khans beyond level 10 are reserved for instructors and masters.
Unlike other martial arts that use colored belts, Muay Thai Boran expresses its grading through the Mongkol (head ring) and Prajets (arm bands), both carrying deep cultural and spiritual significance in Thai martial traditions.
Training in Muay Thai Boran becomes even more motivating when students have milestones to achieve. Each Khan level represents dedication, discipline, and mastery of techniques rooted in Thailand’s ancient martial heritage.
